Offered by Mora Antiques
A superb pair of gilt bronze pouring vases, attributed to Claude Galle (1759–1815), one of the most renowned bronze makers of the Empire period. These elegant pieces, with refined proportions, feature richly chased handles in the form of animal heads and bodies decorated with winged figures representing Victory, holding a crown and trumpet – symbols of triumph and glory. The acanthus friezes, the stars in relief and the meticulously gilded finishes reflect the excellence of the Galle workshop, official supplier to Napoleon I. With their perfect balance between neoclassical rigor and decorative elegance, these vases embody all the grandeur of French imperial art of the early 19th century. Dimensions: 39 × 19 × 12 cm
