A superb pair of patinated and gilt bronze Medici vases, Charles X period (circa 1825–1830). The flared, krater-shaped bodies feature a rich relief decoration of dancing bacchantes, interrupted by satyr mascarons with curled horns. The lower section is adorned with finely chased acanthus leaves, resting on a fluted, fire-gilt foot. Each vase is mounted on a square patinated bronze base, enhanced with a gilt bronze laurel wreath.
