Pair of Medici-style covered vases forming potpourri jars in chiseled bronze gilded with mercury.
The vases are decorated with antique friezes, the lids are openwork with palmettes, and they rest on sea green marble bases flanked by heads of Mercury.
High-quality Parisian work attributed to Pierre Philippe Thomire (1751-1843).
Empire period, early 19th century.
Please note: one marble base has been repaired and another replaced, and there are minor repairs to one lid.
