Bactrian Alabaster Vessel (2nd mill. BC)

Bactria (present northeastern part of Afghanistan).
Period: late 3rd - early 2nd millenium BC
Height: 22cm
A carved alabaster jar with tapering profile and flared rim, rounded base.
The warm amber-colored soft stone has subtle cream colored and beige inclusions and sparse reddish veins.
The body is conical in shape, flaring towards either end and hollowed.
Condition : Generally fine condition.
