Jacques BLANCHARD (Paris, 1600 - 1638) - Madonna and child

Oil on canvas depicting the Virgin and Child. The latter is standing, balancing on the lap of his Mother who looks at the viewer with an expression combining nobility and simplicity, characterizing the art of Jacques Blanchard, Painter of King Louis XIII and rival of Simon Vouet.
