This large-format ormolu cartel clock dates to the Louis XVI period, circa 1770. The cartouche-shaped case is surmounted by a neoclassical twin-handled vase resting on an arched frieze set with four finials. Flanking foliated scrolls and draperies frame the central dial. The white enameled dial features Roman and Arabic numerals, pierced hands, and the signature "Juhel à Paris". Below is an open pendulum aperture that transitions into a floral arrangement with a central female mask. The object retains its original gilding and shows signs of wear consistent with age and use. The movement has been revised and is in working condition. The case model is documented in the literature by Ottomeyer/Pröschel; comparable examples can be found in the collections of the Hermitage, Waddesdon Manor, and the Victoria & Albert Museum.
