Offered by Jakob F. Müller Antiquitäten
A pair of seven-light tent and bag chandeliers (lustres à tente et sac) in the Spanish Empire Historism style, crafted in Spain circa 1890 to 1910 in the design tradition of the Real Fábrica de Cristales de La Granja de San Ildefonso. The silver-finished metal frame descends from a corona adorned with palmettes, from which hangs a tent formed by dense chains of faceted crystal octagons and almond-shaped drops (amandines). The central focus features a wide main ring set with square-cut crystal elements, supporting six S-curved candle arms with profiled drip pans and nozzles. The lower section culminates in a densely draped, bowl-shaped basket (sac) housing an integrated internal light. The design language reflects the neoclassical creations of the Spanish La Granja manufacture from the early 19th century. The pair exhibits age- and use-consistent patina, occasional minor nibbles, as well as historical replacements to the crystal dressing, and is fully electrified.
