Furniture Port, crystal chandeliers
A significant wall clock in chiseled and gilded bronze, signed “LACAN A PARIS” on the white enamel dial.
The dial displays the hours in Roman numerals and the minutes in Arabic numerals in intervals of 5; the hands are made of openwork and chiseled brass. The movement is also signed “Lacan Paris” on the mainplate and retains its original wire suspension and disc-shaped balance wheel.
The chiseled bronze case is topped by an urn, decorated with cascading garlands of foliage and scrolls surmounted by ram’s heads on either side of the dial; the sides feature openwork brass latticework.
Original mercury gilding; the movement is in working order and comes with its key.
Louis XVI period.
