A rare and charming Meissen tête-à-tête tea set, comprising a tray, a teapot, a sugar bowl, a milk jug and two cups with saucers.
The set is beautifully decorated with hand-painted multicoloured floral tendrils on a white background, in the fashionable "Deutsche Blumen" style, which was very popular throughout Europe in the eighteenth century.
Each piece bears the distinctive blue mark of the Meissen factory, consisting of crossed swords.
