A Pair of French Empire Campana Medici Vases with Original Candelabra circa 1925

This magnificent pair of Campana Medici vases is crafted from finely chased, gilt and patinated bronze. The vases are modelled after antique Campana vases, recognisable by their characteristic inverted bell shape. The flared rims are decorated with a frieze of gadroons.

The bodies of the vases are adorned with representations of the Four Seasons. The tall bases, crafted from Siena marble, feature finely detailed bronze plinths decorated with delicate acanthus-leaf friezes. The front of each base is embellished with a classical lyre motif surrounded by a laurel wreath.

A particularly remarkable feature of this exceptional pair is that both vases retain their original candelabra. These consist of a central stem with four branches, each fitted with a candle socket, allowing the vases to serve as richly ornamented candelabra.

France, Empire period, circa 1825.
