Beautiful and elegant commode à ressaut from the Transition period between Louis XV and Louis XVI, circa 1770–1780, 18th century.

The chest of drawers presented here opens with three drawers on the front arranged in two tiers, known as a commode sauteuse.
It features a distinctive upper drawer divided in the center.
It is adorned with fine marquetry in butterfly-wing pattern and a Greek key motif embellished with corner brackets, both on the drawers and the sides.
The woods used include rosewood, palisander, lemonwood, and sycamore.
The rounded front uprights are also decorated with butterfly-wing marquetry, simulating an apron construction.
A beautiful set of gilt bronze mounts completes the decoration.
It is topped with its original royal red marble.
