Transition period commode with satiné parquetry decoration framed with stringing and amaranth. It opens with two drawers and three drawers in the upper section, as well as two side doors. Beautiful gilt bronze mounts.
Roger Vandercruse, known as Lacroix (1728–1799) – cabinetmaker – received as master on February 6, 1755: a highly talented cabinetmaker, Roger Vandercruse Lacroix was one of the craftsmen who most strongly influenced the Transition period and contributed to the evolution of furniture toward Classicism.
