Pair of covered earthenware vases, decorated with polychrome paint and gilt highlights, depicting birds, flowers, and rocks in the Japanese Imari style. Both vases have their original lids, which is very rare. One of the two is marked in red below the three intertwined letters A P K, the signature of Pieter Kocx's workshop. Dutch work from the early 18th century. Delft kilns. Height: 34 cm. The lids have been restored; the old, yellowed restorations can be seen in the photos. The vases themselves have not been restored. The first has a chip on the neck, and the second has a slight crack, as can be seen in the photos.
