A vase with a tapered body and gently curved sides, made of glazed stoneware by Pierre-Adrien Dalpayrat, incised with “Dalpayrat” and numbered 154 on the underside of the base, circa 1900.
Dalpayrat was a leading figure in Art Nouveau ceramics and flamed stoneware. His experimentation with glaze colors is fully expressed in this vase, with variations ranging from blue to green and his famous oxblood red.
An original firing flaw is visible on the body, attesting to the technical difficulty of flamed stoneware.
