A very rare, complete linen lace collar in excellent condition, with no repairs, additions, or cuts. Tiny losses and tears are visible in the photos.
An approximate calculation indicates that between 500,000 and 1 million needle passes were required to create this lace. It measures a generous 70 x 51 cm. Flanders or France, second half of the 17th century. This collar is part of a collection assembled before 1925, comprising approximately one hundred lace pieces from all periods, from the 16th to the 19th centuries which are also for sale.
