An Empire Gilt-bronze Vase Clock, Signed Buzé à Paris, Early 19th Century

A finely cast and gilt-bronze mantel clock in the form of an antique vase, richly decorated with satyr masks, vine motifs and acanthus leaves. The white enamel dial with Roman numerals is signed Buzé à Paris. The case is surmounted by a finely detailed pine-cone finial and rests on a stepped base with foliate ornament. The movement with silk suspension strikes the hours and half-hours on a bell. Dimensions: 43 × 20 × 12 cm
