Made of zamac with a warm bronze and copper patina, delicately enhanced on the jewelry and headdress. Emmanuel Villanis is renowned for the finesse of his modeling and the expressiveness of his portraits; this work perfectly illustrates his attention to detail and elegance. The figure’s posture, combined with her lowered gaze, expresses both vulnerability and seduction. Signed “E. Villanis” on the base. An intriguing piece from the late 19th to early 20th century, in good condition.
