An impressive large French oxblood vase, crafted in a rich, deep burgundy glaze and finely decorated with gilt chinoiserie motifs. The body of the vase is adorned with elegant floral scrolls, foliage, and birds, executed in gold against a lustrous ground, creating great visual depth and exquisite craftsmanship. The vase is fitted with high-quality gilt bronze mounts at both the neck and base. The upper mount is richly chased with acanthus leaves and mascarons, while the lower section rests on sumptuous gilt bronze feet sculpted in the form of dolphins, accompanied by finely modeled putti (cherubs). This ensemble lends the piece a sculptural and mythological richness, characteristic of the finest French decorative arts. The overall appearance is monumental and opulent, typical of Parisian production during the Napoleon III period, when oxblood ceramics were combined with sumptuous gilt-bronze mounts to create prestigious pieces for the most refined interiors.
