Late 19th century Giltwood Console Table with Marble Top

A richly sculpted 19th century console table, executed in carved wood with refined gilding and surmounted by a veined marble top in warm pink and cream tones. The console is supported by elegant cabriole legs connected by an elaborately carved stretcher adorned with rocailles and floral motifs. The entire piece is richly decorated with acanthus leaves, scrolling rocailles, and floral garlands, executed in a vibrant Louis XV style. The quality of the carving and the dynamic asymmetrical ornamentation give the piece a particularly decorative and sculptural character. The marble top provides an elegant contrast to the warm gilding and enhances the luxurious appearance of the whole. With its harmonious proportions and rich detailing, this console serves both as an impressive decorative object and as a refined architectural furnishing. France, 19th century.
