This elegant two-handled cup and saucer was crafted by the Sèvres Manufactory in 1810. The vessel features a rare tortoiseshell-style glaze, with rich, mottled depth and a luxurious sheen. The base is highlighted by a band of gilded "wolf’s teeth" motifs, lending rhythmic strength to the form.
The rim of the cup and the border of the saucer are delicately decorated with a floral garland of pink blossoms and green leaves, interwoven with gilt friezes. A radiating gilt star motif adorns the center of the saucer, symbolizing brilliance and distinction. A refined example of Sèvres Empire-period porcelain artistry.
