Louis XVI period

Pendulum in chiseled and gilded bronze, called "The return of Love".
The subjects are distributed around the clock gimbal and rest on an architectural base, centered on an openwork reserve of a trophy of love.

It rests on a raised entablature in ebony veneer decorated with openwork bronze interlacing.
Turned feet.
Wire movement, enamel dial with Roman and Arabic numerals.

Attributed to the bronzier Martincourt.

Signed by Imbert in Paris (Jean-Gabriel Imbert 1735-1795).
Received master in 1776.

It has retained its original gilding

A clock by Imbert is kept at the Povlovsk Palace near St Petersburg
