A Louis XV box stamped by Jean François Hache à Grenoble

Rare box inlaid on all its visible sides with flowers in cartridges of branches on a poly-lobed background, in native and exotic woods such as maple, boxwood, thornbush in natural or stained, satin as well as ebony and violet; all on a walnut frame. On both sides of our box, drop handles facilitate its transport. These are made of polished metal, as is the lock entrance, to complete the decor. The top lifts up, hinged by two small hinges with concave and convex segments, assisted by a hook nestled in the asperities provided for this purpose on its straight profile; under the lid and the edge of the bowl. The box is locked by a hasp lock in perfect working order. It should be noted that the key was missing and was brought back. The stamp of Jean François Hache, "Hache Fils à Grenoble" is stamped on the edge of the front on both sides of the lock.
Dimensions: width 19.4cm - depth 19.4cm - height 16.5cm.
Jean-François Hache, known as the elder (January 10, 1730 - August 19, 1796), eldest son of Pierre Hache, is the most famous of the dynasty. In 1756, he spent four months in Paris with Jean-François Oeben, the cabinetmaker of Louis XV, where he studied the production of the master. Back in Grenoble, he gradually took over from his father and from 1760 onwards imposed the more slender forms of the Louis XV style. Jean-François Hache simplified his father's mannerism and imposed large cartouches soberly outlined like our case. Jean-François, from 1760, took back the stamp of his father "Hache à Grenoble" by adding "Hache Fils à Grenoble".
