A beautiful and rare bronze sculpture by Édouard Pépin, depicting a young orientalist shoeshine boy, titled “Cirer m’ssieu”. The figure stands on a red marble base and dates from the late 19th century.
The sculpture is finely modelled, with an expressive pose and a rich, well-preserved patina.
Édouard Pépin was the artist’s name used by Claude Guillaumin (1842–1927).
