Composition – Maurice Estève (1904–2001)

This lithograph presents a highly structured abstract composition, characteristic of the artistic universe of Maurice Estève. Interlocking forms, with soft, rounded contours, come together to create a kind of colorful puzzle in which fragments of objects or figures can be glimpsed without ever being clearly identified.
The work is also distinguished by its great chromatic richness. The colors do not simply fill spaces; they overlap, intersect, and balance one another, creating a subtle dialogue between the different forms. This organization of colors and volumes gives the whole a true sense of movement, while creating an impression of depth and dynamism.
