An elegant bronze animal group with patina depicting two hunting dogs in an alert pose, created by the French sculptor Édouard Drouot (1859–1945) in the late 19th century. This composition highlights the artist’s remarkable sense of observation. The musculature, the expressions on their faces, the rendering of the fur, and their natural poses attest to a high level of mastery in French animal sculpture of this period. The two dogs, depicted in a moment of anticipation, convey a sense of alertness and elegance. The bronze features a beautiful, nuanced brown patina that subtly highlights the details of the modeling. The naturalistic base, adorned with roots and plant elements, reinforces the lively character of the piece as a whole. Trained at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris, Édouard Drouot exhibited regularly at the Salon des Artistes Français, where he received awards on several occasions.
