THE ARTWORK
The painting depicts the Virgin Mary seated indoors with the Christ Child on her lap. Mary is shown facing the viewer, holding the child close to her in a calm and intimate pose. The background is kept fairly simple, allowing full attention to remain on the figures.
Next to Mary and Jesus stands a vase filled with flowers, adding a decorative and symbolic element to the scene.
