An exceptional pair of 18th-century Italian mirrors, featuring remarkable openwork and gilded wood carving.
The mirrors are elegantly framed and divided into several sections, multiplying the effects of light and depth. They are adorned with exuberant and dynamic decoration, through a harmonious interplay of curves and counter-curves, characteristic of the late Italian Baroque decorative repertoire.
These decorations consist of a profusion of scrolls, foliage, foliage, small flowers, and rocaille motifs, all finely executed.
They face each other symmetrically, both in the pediment decorated with a magnificent bird with outstretched wings and in the lower section. This gives the whole a great elegance and a spectacular decorative presence.
Their distinctive feature, besides being a pair, is their impressive height of nearly 2 meters, still retaining their original mercury mirrors, making this pair a rare and exceptionally high-quality piece.
Italian work from the 18th century, with its beautiful original gilding and cream highlights, giving it a unique charm. Dimensions:
