Large celadon porcelain vase, China, 19th century

The elegant large Chinese porcelain vase, with a slender silhouette, ovoid body and tall flaring neck, entirely covered with a delicate aqua green celadon glaze, was made in China around the early years of the 19th century. The whole surface is densely decorated with a refined white floral pattern: small flowering branches, buds and leaves run in a continuous rhythm, creating a sophisticated effect that lightens the imposing shape of the piece. On the neck and shoulder there are small Fo dogs and lizards in relief, modelled with ornamental taste and perfectly integrated into the decoration.
The light, luminous celadon tone is enhanced by the brilliance of the glaze and by the contrast with the white decoration. The harmonious proportions, the quality of the body and glazing, together with the particular richness of the vegetal repertoire, make this vase a decorative object of strong presence, suitable for enhancing both classical and contemporary interiors.
The vase shows some losses and fractures. Possible restoration can be carried out by one of our trusted restorers.
