Maravijaya Buddha (the Buddha's victory over the forces of illusion), seated on a base with double rows of lotus petals. He is in the earth-touching posture, bhumisparsa mudra, an emblematic image of mind control and triumph over attachments. He wears a monastic robe adorned with raised rosettes. His face is imbued with serenity, and his elongated earlobes are exquisitely delicate.
Good overall condition, some visible loss of gilding
Gilt and lacquered bronze.
