A rare and refined small 17th century ciborium, featuring a silver cup and lid raised on a gilt copper foot.
The hemispherical cup is fitted with a domed lid surmounted by a cross finial. The baluster-shaped gilt copper stem and foot display a beautiful aged patina, reflecting its authenticity and liturgical use. The contrast between the restrained brilliance of the silver and the warm tones of the gilt copper enhances the aesthetic harmony of the piece.
An engraved inscription dated 1806 appears beneath the foot, likely added at a later date, possibly commemorating a donation or a gift.
