A fine Corpus Christi figure cast in bronze and fire-gilded, dating to the late 16th century. This sculpture displays a refined and expressive modeling, characteristic of late Renaissance craftsmanship.
The elongated body of Christ is rendered with carefully observed anatomy, with particular attention to the facial features, flowing hair, and delicately draped perizonium. The outstretched arms and inclined head convey a strong sense of pathos and spiritual intensity typical of the period.
The original gilding, now partially worn, reveals areas of the underlying dark bronze patina, enhancing the depth and authenticity of the piece. The figure is mounted on a modern, discreet display stand that complements the sculpture.
Size: 21 cm (head to toes)
Condition: good antique condition, with wear to the gilding consistent with age. Note: two fingers are missing on one hand (restoration available upon request).
