Patinated bronze sculpture by the French artist Mathurin Moreau (1822–1912), depicting “Diane au Bain” — Diana at her bath. The goddess is shown in a graceful and intimate pose, modelled with classical sensitivity and refined attention to anatomical detail.
The composition is enhanced by the subtle movement of the drapery and the presence of a small companion animal at her feet, adding narrative depth to the scene.
Executed in a rich brown patina, the work retains its original plaque inscribed “Diane au Bain – Salon des Beaux-Arts”, referencing the tradition of Parisian academic exhibition.
