A pair of Neoclassical gilt and patinated bronze candelabra, attributed to Humphrey Hopper (c. 1767–1844), late 18th/early 19th century (gilding restored). A rare pair of Neoclassical candelabra from the late 18th/early 19th century, in finely chased bronze with a double patina of brown and gilt, attributed to Humphrey Hopper (c. 1767–1844). The antique-inspired female figures support vase-shaped candle holders in an elegant contrapposto pose, typical of the Regency style. The abundant drapery contrasts beautifully with the dark patina of the figures, while the gilt elements provide a warm luminosity. The gilding has been carefully restored, bringing back the full brilliance of the gilded bronze parts while respecting the original aesthetic. Each candelabra rests on a circular pedestal adorned with masks and garlands, itself set upon a quadrangular base. A decorative and harmonious pair, representative of neoclassical bronze at the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries. Dimensions: 31 × 9 cm
