Pair of giltwood wall sconces, Paris, Regence period

A beautiful pair of small wall sconces in giltwood linden.

The shafts are adorned with large, feathered Native American heads that serve as brackets, all set against a background of shells and crosshatching finely engraved in the gesso.

Original gilt, in excellent condition.

Parisian work from the Regency period, circa 1720.
