This exquisite thermometer was crafted by Eugène Hazart (1838–1891).
A master bronzier, he produced exceptional work, recreating some of the finest bronze objects from the 18th century.
Claude Siméon Passemant (1702–1769) created extraordinary scientific instruments for the most prominent figures of his era.
The thermometer features markings corresponding to various temperatures (e.g., human body heat, a frozen river, etc.).
Two pilasters with fluted columns support a cornice topped with cartographic attributes.
As is characteristic of Hazart’s work, the chasing is of the highest quality.
