Sublime French pedimented mirror in carved and gilded wood from the end of the 18th century. In the center, an intertwined monogram adds a touch of elegance and refinement, probably a mark of aristocratic commission. It is framed by two charming winged putti in the round, whose graceful posture brings movement and lightness to the whole. At the top, a third triumphant cherub holds a basket of flowers, symbolizing abundance and prosperity. The decoration is embellished with a profusion of foliage, acanthus and finely chiseled flowers, testifying to the exceptional know-how of the craftsmen of the time.
The original, well-preserved gilding gives this piece a brilliant luminosity and an authentic patina that underlines its antique character.
The glass of this mirror made of mercury has a magnificent 3 cm wide bevel.
