Elegant 19th-century pair of pedestals in Moroccan onyx with warm, translucent veining, offering depth of colour and a luminous surface. The cylindrical shafts are topped with finely chased Corinthian capitals in gilt bronze, decorated with acanthus leaves.
Highly valued in 19th-century decorative schemes, onyx was used to enhance architectural features and refined interiors. These pedestals are ideal for displaying a sculpture, bust or work of art, and suit both classical and contemporary settings.
