The tavern, 17th-century Flemish school

“The Tavern,” oil on panel, Flemish school, circa 1620, early 17th century.
We present this beautiful painting depicting the interior of a tavern bustling with characters, some smoking and others gathered around the fireplace.
On the right side of the composition, a woman stands in the doorway.
On either side of the painting, utensils are depicted in the lower part in the style of a still life, attesting to the pictorial quality of the painting.
There is a lovely play of light and shadow, giving the scene a certain intimacy.
A beautiful 17th-century style frame completes the decor.
Private collection.
In perfect condition.
Dimensions: Frame: h.66 cm x w.82.5 cm.
Wood: h.48 cm x w.65.5 cm.
