Carlo Pellegrini was an Italian painter and draftsman from the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
He was born on October 25, 1866, in Ablese con Cassano, Italy, and spent most of his working life in Switzerland, particularly in the cantons of Valais and Graubünden.
He studied at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts in Milan, founded by Empress Maria Theresa of Austria. He then completed his training as an autodidact, drawing post-impressionist landscapes from nature. After moving to Geneva in 1900, he began working as an art consultant at the publishing house Vouga & Co.
Carlo Pellegrini became known for his posters and postcards depicting Swiss landscapes and the winter activities of vacationers. He enjoyed capturing the expressions of his characters in real life.
In 1912, during the Stockholm Olympic Games, Carlo Pellegrini participated in the first art and literature competition, winning the gold medal in the painting category with his work "Winter Sports."
