Offered by Mora Antiques
A remarkable pair of fire-gilt bronze candlesticks shaped as classical urns on square pedestals, executed in finely chased ormolu with matte and burnished contrast. The design features ram’s heads, laurel wreaths, medallion portraits, and classical insignia, all emblematic of the early Empire style under Napoleon.
The removable lids, each crowned with a flame finial, suggest their original use as incense burners (brûle-parfums), though they now serve equally well as sculptural candlesticks. A rare ensemble with bold architectural presence and museum-worthy refinement.
