A large 120 cm statue of David vainqueur by Marius-Jean-Antonin Mercie (French, 1845-1916) David, circa 1875, with warm black-brown patinated bronze, signed in cast "A. MERCIE" and fondeur: A. Collas

Marius-Jean-Antonin Mercie was born in Toulouse, France in 1845 and educated at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris. At age 23, he won the Grand Prix de Rome.
