Chest of drawers in walnut, Pierre Hache in Grenoble around 1730

Beautiful chest of drawers "jumper" in walnut opening with two drawers. Curved crossbow model, resting on uprights finely carved with acanthus falls ending in deer hooves. The front crosspiece molded with a cord and adorned with a large asymmetrical shell. The molded "chapel" sides, the rear uprights with a projection.
Very bright blond walnut.
Drop handles and original bronze entries.

Perfect state of preservation; original fund.

Work of Pierre Hache in Grenoble from the beginning of the Louis XV period around 1730-1740.

Width: 128 cm, Height: 86 cm, Depth: 60 cm

Although not stamped, our chest of drawers has a decoration and above all technical characteristics of manufacture specific to Pierre Hache.
This chest of drawers is therefore not "in the taste of" or "of the entourage" but indeed from the hand of Pierre Hache.

Award criteria:

1) The decor:
The cord in simulated ribbons on the moldings of the low crosspieces.
The chamfered doe hoof feet and the uprights with valance drops.
The characteristic jumps of the plateau and the orientation of the rear feet.
The type and shape of the handles.

2) Technical characteristics:
Back nailed horizontally in the rabbets of the rear uprights.
The assembly of the intermediate crosspiece of the key drawers, a process invented by Pierre Hache around 1730 and only used by him and his son Jean François. Although pegged because probably not understood by a restorer who must have thought of an oversight, the locations of the wedges are still clearly visible.
The bottom of the bottom fitted from the back into the rabbets of the two cleats of the lower crosspieces.
