A movment commode veneered in rosewood, satinwood, and holly, featuring two drawers without a visible crossbar.

The front and sides are adorned with rich floral marquetry, comprising bouquets and blossoms, set within shaped reserves outlined by stringing.

The veneers, arranged in a decorative pattern, highlight the delicacy of the floral designs.

The shaped apron rests on four cabriole legs. The uprights, rails, and legs are embellished with rich mounts of chased and re-gilded bronze, featuring floral pendants, sabots, apron mounts, and Rococo-style keyhole escutcheons with foliate motifs.

The piece is topped with a "Rouge des Pyrénées" marble slab featuring a "bec de corbin" molding.

Characterized by its generously curved silhouette and high-quality floral marquetry, this commode is typical of the 1750s.

Louis XV period; stamped CHEVALLIER, for Jean-Mathieu Chevallier, who became a master in Paris in 1743.
