Japan, complete set of 10 lacquer bowls, Meiji period.
Rare and complete set of 10 bowls and 10 lids (multiples of 5 in Japan) decorated with peonies in gold lacquer on a nashiji background. Interiors in vermilion red lacquer. This set, probably used for a wedding, is in perfect condition thanks to its original box. This set can be used for decoration but also at the table. The lids serve as small plates.
