Mazarin desk, Louis XIV period

Desk with broken top in amaranth veneer, richly ornamented with large engraved pewter fillets, borders, framing of all drawers with a geometric figure centered, on the tray a harmonious geometric composition, on the sides a diamond in a frame.
The front opens with four drawers on two rows around a central leaf, the broken top reveals three drawers inside while the flap forms a writing desk and simulates three false drawers in front.
It rests on eight legs connected by a strut with a border of engraved pewter fillets, faceted baluster feet topped by a gilded wood ball ending in a blackened and gilded wood top, gilded wood balls supporting the whole.
The back in veneer compartmentalized into three by ebony fillets.
Very good condition, Parisian work.
