Let us quote an excellent article appearing on Wikipedia devoted to Pierre Nicolas Pillot (Fontenay-sur-Seine 1748 - Nîmes 1822), carpenter active in Nîmes at the end of the 18th century who maintained close relations with the capital and proved to be innovative in Provence by spreading neoclassical taste: https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pierre_Pillot
Two similar seats sold by the Artcurial auction house: https://www.artcurial.com/fr/lot-paire-de-fauteuils-en-cabriolet-depoque-louis-xvi-estampille-de-pillot-3210-216
The very original shapes of these seats belong only to this master.
Very good condition of the barrels (reinforcements in the belt to be noted), relaquered and relined in the old way and covered with an ecru canvas by our upholsterer.
