Rare Louis XVI period bouillotte lamp in chased and gilt bronze.
The circular base is formed as an openwork basket with trellis decoration, the central stem is fluted, and the three lights (still retaining their original nozzles) are adjustable in height. The original green lacquered sheet-metal shade, enhanced with gilt laurel friezes, is also height-adjustable.
A piece of exceptional quality, both in design and craftsmanship.
Remarkably fine chasing. Excellent condition, retaining its lightly worn original gilding.
The lamp remains entirely in its original state and has not been drilled for electricity.
Paris, late 18th century.
