Marseille Faience Ice Bucket, circa 1765–1770

Tripod ice bucket in Marseille faience, decorated in polychrome using the petit feu technique, known as “à la bouillabaisse,” featuring a still life of fish on both sides and floral garlands near the handles.

18th century, circa 1765–1770.

Condition: Lid and inner liner missing. Vertical crack to the left of the decoration depicting four fish, running parallel to the floral garland and extending horizontally for 7 cm beneath the body.
