Robert Adrien Delétang (1874–1951) – Fandango in Hendaye, French Basque Country

Interesting painting of a Basque scene by Robert Delétang, signed lower right and dated 1941.

On the reverse, a label bears the following inscription:

“Salon d'Automne – 1941, Sociétaire, 4 Av. de Bourgelat, St Cloud (S.O.), Fandango sur la place à Hendaye.”

Oil on coarse canvas, painted during the Second World War, and framed.

This painting is entirely representative of the artist's style.

Good condition. A small repair to the canvas should be noted, with a small patch visible on the reverse (see photographs).

Stretcher dimensions: 38 × 55 cm.
