A large Japanese bronze okimono from the renowned Tokyo School, depicting a young geisha walking gracefully while carrying a ch?chin lantern, signed Genryusai Seiya zo. The figure advances with a light and cautious step, her body gently inclined forward. In her right hand, she holds a slender bamboo-like pole from which a chain suspends the lantern, while with her left hand she delicately lifts the hem of her kimono, seemingly startled by the arrival of a small wave. Particular attention has been devoted to the finely modelled shimada hairstyle, rendered with remarkable precision, as well as to the flowing robes, whose soft, elegant folds follow the natural movement of the figure. Signed within a square reserve on the underside of the base.
